Pharming
Pharming is a term used to describe a cyber scam where malicious code redirects a user to a fake website without their knowledge.
Unlike phishing, pharming scams do not occur as a result of the user clicking a suspicious link or opening an email attachment.
Pharming can lead to the loss of personal data, resulting in fraud and identity theft.
Stopping a pharming threat
- Be alert and look for clues that you have been redirected to a fake website
- Some anti-spyware can detect and remove pharming code
