Term: Central Processing Unit [CPU]
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is responsible for handling/executing all the instructions received from the computer’s software and hardware.
The CPU is sometimes referred to as the microprocessor, processor, central processor or the ‘brains of the computer’.
The CPU contains the ALU, CU and a variety of registers.
